Frequently Asked Questions

Cello section of orchestra

Where do I park and how much does it cost?

Parking is free during weekends on the UCSD campus. Concert-goers can park in any parking space except those designated as 24-Hour-a-Day, Handicap, or Reserved. During the academic year, the campus parking lots are often crowded, so please arrive 30 minutes early to allow plenty of time to park and walk to the auditorium. See "Directions & Parking" for recommended lot locations.

Where is handicap parking?
Nearby handicap parking is located in Lot 206. There is also limited handicap parking along Mandeville Lane leading to the Auditorium. The Auditorium has a circle drive for those wishing to drop off patrons before parking.

How old do you have to be for the Senior discount?
You must be 65 years or older.

What is your late seating policy?
We suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before concert times to avoid late seating. If you are delayed for a performance, late seating will take place during the first appropriate pause in the program and at the discretion of the management. Patrons seated after the program has begun will be seated when and where it is most considerate to the artists and other patrons. This may not be your original seat. You can return to your original seat after intermission. Please note that some concerts are performed without an intermission.

Can I get a ticket refund if I am unable to attend a concert?
Tickets are non-refundable but, please, offer them to friends and family! If you are unable to use your tickets, you can donate them to the Ticket Office by calling (858) 534-4637 during regular office hours. We will be happy to send you a donation receipt.

Can I purchase tickets on the day of a concert?
If tickets are still available to a concert, they can be purchased at the Box Office in Mandeville Auditorium, which opens 90 minutes prior to the start of the concert. The Box Office is located in the East Room of the Auditorium as is Will Call.

What is appropriate concert dress?
Because our subscription concerts take place on a college campus, dress may be more casual than you find at symphony hall. Most concert-goers dress "smart casual," meaning slacks and sweater/sports coat for men and pants outfit or dress for women.

What are restrictions for Student pricing?
Student pricing is for full-time university students under 35 with valid I.D. or youth 18 and younger.
