Volunteer Aboard an Arctic Ocean Research Vessel and Benefit LJS&C!
Experience the adventure of a lifetime aboard a U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker on a research cruise to the Arctic Ocean! La Jolla Symphony & Chorus (LJS&C) second bassoonist Jim Swift, a research oceanographer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, is participating on a 38-day research cruise that will stage via Anchorage, Alaska, June 12 to July 22, 2010, and he could use help at sea from a volunteer. Jim is offering this unique ‘science outreach’ opportunity in appreciation of a substantial donation to LJS&C:
- Sail as a working volunteer - a full science participant - with Jim!
- Experience the front lines of ocean climate research first-hand.
- See Arctic wildlife and landscapes.
